Japanese tuna tartar : Bento Box Recipe N°15

For a bento box : Recipe N°15

A sea tartar with the scent of the rising sun and the smell of coriander and sesame.


Ingredients :

  • 1 bluefin or yellowfin tuna steak
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander
  • 6 spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of nuoc-mâm
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • the juice of a lime
  • roasted sesame seeds & Szechuan or Timut pepper.

Preparation :

  1. Choose bluefin or yellowfin tuna
  2. Remove skin and small persistent nerves & cut into regular strips.
  3. Then cut into medium cubes to keep lamb's lettuce.
  4. Chop spring onions and coriander finely.
  5. Combine the ingredients in a salad bowl or cul-de-poule.
  6. Add the grated ginger and lime.
  7. Finish with the soy sauce, nuoc-mam. Mix delicately and adjust the taste if necessary.
